Hopscotch

One of my University papers at Massey is Art and Design Studio A. For part of this paper I had create a work that interacted or commented on my sight which was Courtney place. This is my final video.

In other news, I have now finished uni for the year and have summer holidays. So keen for summer fun times.  Also I need to actually do something with this sleepy little blog...

Inventing Materials

This is my end use board for one of my university papers. For the paper I had to experiment with a bunch of materials with the intention of changing their properties. My final material ended up being layers of fabric with lines sewn into them to create cells to hold expanding foam in certain places/shapes. For this end use board I wanted to give it stereotypical aesthetic qualities of action sports companies to fit the chosen application.

Cardboard Kitchen

For my Art and Design Studio assignment I had to produce a work biased loosely on "narrative of self". I was not super happy with were i ended up but it was an interesting process.  Here is what I wrote to explain my work.

"For my final piece I have crafted the entire bench top surface of my kitchen from cardboard so that it is raised up to a height that is convenient for me.  For some years now I have found bench tops and other parts of houses to be a poor fit for myself as I am a rather tall person. This cardboard installation is more of a sketch showing how things could be in a world ideal for myself but inconvenient for others. The aesthetics of the cardboard help to establish a sense of this being not so much a permanent fixture and more a proposal of a possibility. I came to this final work because I was experimenting with scale and proportion and I feel that this fits well as this work puts the kitchen into the same scale as me. I am presenting photographs of my work because it would be almost impossible to bring the pieces I have made in and once they were out of context they would make very little sense."

More work that I am doing/have done can be seen on the blog that I use for my Digital Design and Visualization class.
